Advertising
& sponsorship.
I believe commercial relationships should be clear, easy to understand and never hidden behind vague language.
This page explains how advertising, sponsorships, paid partnerships, brand collaborations, promotional campaigns and other commercial relationships may appear across Sammi Barber content.
The short version: brands may pay me to create content.
Sammi Barber may receive payment, products, services, experiences or other forms of consideration from brands, retailers, companies or agencies in connection with advertising, sponsorships, paid partnerships, campaigns and other commercial collaborations.
Some content on this website and across my online platforms may be sponsored, paid for, provided in partnership with a brand, or otherwise commercially supported. Where applicable, I will disclose the nature of that relationship clearly in connection with the content.
I want you to know when a brand or company has a commercial relationship with me so that you can make an informed decision about the content you see.
Advertising may appear around the content.
The Sammi Barber website may display advertising provided by third-party advertising platforms, networks, publishers, retailers or brands.
Advertising may appear in or around articles, pages, videos, images, newsletters, shopping content or other areas of the website.
Advertisements may be selected, delivered or personalized by third-party advertising providers based on factors such as the content of a page, advertising availability, geographic information, browser information, previous interactions or other permitted signals.
The appearance of an advertisement on this website does not necessarily mean that I personally endorse, guarantee or recommend the advertised company, product or service.
Advertising is advertising. Its presence on the website should not be interpreted as a personal guarantee or endorsement unless I specifically say otherwise.
Some brands may support specific content.
A sponsorship is a commercial relationship in which a brand, company or other organization provides payment, products, services or other consideration in connection with content, an event, campaign, series, project or other activity.
Sponsored relationships may involve articles, videos, photography, social media content, newsletters, events, appearances, campaigns or other creative work.
When content is sponsored, I intend to make the sponsorship clear in connection with the relevant content.
- Financial payment for content or creative services.
- Products or services supplied in connection with a campaign.
- Paid appearances, events or experiences.
- Brand-funded editorial or creative projects.
- Other forms of commercial consideration.
A paid partnership means there is a business relationship.
I may enter into paid partnerships with brands, retailers, companies, agencies or other organizations.
A paid partnership may involve creating, publishing or distributing content in exchange for compensation.
Compensation may be a fixed payment, project fee, campaign fee, product or service, or another agreed form of consideration.
Paid partnership content may be published on this website or on third-party platforms, including social media and video platforms.
“This content is sponsored by [Brand]. I have been compensated for this partnership.”
Sometimes a brand and I create something together.
I may collaborate with brands on creative projects, campaigns, product launches, events, editorial features, social media content, photography, video or other promotional activities.
A collaboration may be paid, unpaid, product-based or involve another form of commercial consideration.
The existence of a collaboration does not automatically mean that every statement made about a brand or product represents an endorsement of every aspect of that brand or its business.
Where the relationship is material to the content, the commercial nature of the relationship will be disclosed as appropriate.
Sponsored content should be easy to recognize.
Sponsored content may include any content created or published as part of a commercial relationship with a brand, company, retailer or other organization.
Depending on the platform and format, sponsored content may be identified using language such as “sponsored,” “paid partnership,” “advertisement,” “ad,” “in partnership with” or other wording that clearly communicates the commercial relationship.
The exact wording may vary depending on the platform, format, audience and applicable disclosure requirements.
Sponsored by [Brand] — I have been compensated for this partnership.
The purpose of these disclosures is to make the commercial relationship understandable without requiring you to search through a separate legal page to figure it out.
Free products are still a relationship.
Brands, retailers, companies and public relations agencies may occasionally send me products, samples, services, invitations, experiences or other items without charge.
Receiving a product or service does not guarantee that I will publish about it, recommend it or provide a positive opinion.
If a gifted product is featured in content, I may disclose that the product was provided to me free of charge or at a discount where appropriate or required.
“This product was gifted to me by the brand. This does not guarantee a positive review or opinion.”
A gifted product and a sponsored post are not necessarily the same thing. A brand sending a product does not automatically mean that the brand paid for a particular piece of content.
Affiliate links are another kind of relationship.
Some links on this website and in related content may be affiliate links.
If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase or complete another qualifying action, I may receive a commission or referral fee.
Affiliate links are addressed in greater detail in my separate Affiliate Disclosure.
Affiliate disclosure: Some links on this website may be affiliate links. If you purchase through one of these links, I may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
For more information about affiliate relationships, commissions, gifted products and related commercial relationships, please review the site’s Affiliate Disclosure.
Paid does not mean automatic praise.
I may work with brands while maintaining my own perspective and editorial judgment.
Compensation, sponsorship or another commercial relationship does not mean that every opinion expressed in connection with a brand or product will be positive.
Where I share a personal opinion, review, experience or recommendation, I intend for it to reflect my genuine views and experience as represented in that content.
However, no statement on this website should be interpreted as a guarantee that a product or service will produce the same experience or results for another person.
A commercial relationship explains how content may be supported. It does not automatically determine what I think.
I try to make disclosures clear.
Commercial disclosures may appear directly within or near the relevant content rather than only on this page.
Depending on the type of content and platform, a disclosure may appear in text, captions, video descriptions, spoken audio, on-screen text, labels or other appropriate formats.
Examples of disclosure language may include:
“This content is sponsored by [Brand]. I have been compensated for this partnership.”
“Paid partnership with [Brand].”
“This product was gifted to me by [Brand].”
“This post contains affiliate links. I may earn a commission if you purchase through these links, at no additional cost to you.”
The exact disclosure used may depend on the nature of the relationship and the platform where the content appears.
Not every advertisement is personally selected by me.
Some advertisements displayed on the website may be delivered automatically through third-party advertising networks or platforms.
These systems may determine which advertisements are shown based on advertising inventory, page content, audience characteristics, location, device information, browsing activity or other permitted factors.
I do not necessarily review or approve every advertisement before it appears.
Third-party advertisers and advertising platforms may have their own terms, privacy policies, cookies and tracking technologies.
I am not responsible for the claims, content, products, services, availability or practices of third-party advertisers except where required by applicable law.
Being featured does not always mean being endorsed.
The appearance of a company, product, service or brand on this website does not automatically mean that I endorse every claim, product, service or business practice associated with that company.
Similarly, an advertisement appearing alongside editorial content should not automatically be interpreted as an endorsement of the advertiser.
Where I intentionally provide an endorsement, recommendation or personal opinion, that content should be understood in the context in which it is presented.
Product and service information can change, and you should review current information directly with the relevant brand or provider before making a purchase or other decision.
Commercial relationships can change over time.
Brands, advertisers, sponsors, campaigns, partnerships and other commercial relationships may change from time to time.
I may begin or end relationships with advertisers, sponsors, brands, agencies, affiliate networks or other commercial partners at any time.
This page may also be updated to reflect changes to the website, business practices, advertising relationships, applicable requirements or the types of commercial content appearing on the website.
When this page is updated, the “Last updated” date will be revised.
